The Sioule River that winds its way through the Combrailles is a true salmon river. This river is wonderfully wide, between 10 and 12 meters and there are beautiful stream seams, deep pools but also many shallow parts, making it very suitable for fly fishing. As already mentioned, you can catch grayling (large variety) in this river, but also brown trout and chub.
The part between Châteauneuf-Les-Bain and Blot-l'Eglise is very popular among the real fishermen among us because the banks are easily accessible. Châteauneuf is a fifteen minute drive from us. The water level in this beloved fishing river can vary quite a bit because a hydropower station is active further upstream, so remember to take a wading suit with you!
Day permits for fishing are available everywhere in the area. If you don't feel like taking the car, you can of course fish to your heart's content in our own lakes.
